Be a Space Scientist

Location: Beardsley Branch Library

Students in grades: 2-7 can attend this special Be a Space Scientist workshop where they can participate  to be a Rocket Engineer to create a simple rocket model; a Planetary Geologist to use a model to examine Mars surface features captured from satellite images; or a Spacesuit Designer to test various materials to see how well they might protect and astronaut against radiation and micrometeoroids. Registration required.

This is a free workshop and space is limited; please register your child soon at 203-332-0025. The event takes place at Beardsley Branch Library located at 2536 East Main Street, Bridgeport, CT.

GSK Science in the Summer™ is a free, informal science summer program for children entering grades 2-6. Supported by GSK and offered in collaboration with The Franklin Institute, the goal of Science in the Summer is to increase children’s interest and confidence in doing science and pursuing STEM careers, especially for children from backgrounds currently underrepresented in STEM fields. The Franklin Institute supports organization to fold the program into their existing structures and increase their educators’ confidence and skills to lead high-quality STEM programming.
