Exhibition Tour and Curator Talk – February 29th

We Are Artists Everyone: the Art Center in Action, 1970-1986

Join curator Michelle Black Smith on a tour of the exhibition, and a discussion of Bridgeport’s Art Center and its role in the National Black Arts Movement.  The Art Center was a creative and cultural hub of the city, attracting youth and adults who desired artistic self-expression.  What started out as a center for visual and musical arts evolved into a center in service to the community. Come and view photographs, artifacts and art work that comprise the exhibition, and participate in lively discussion.
