Bridgeport Public Library : Images across the years
Title:
Inside the Burroughs library building at 925 Broad Street
Description:
Color photograph showing the first floor, north wing of the Burroughs Library at 925 Broad Street. The picture appears to have been taken during the second half of the 1960s or early 1970s. Air conditioning and "drop down" ceilings were installed in the Burroughs building in the late 1960s. The room pictured was used for many years as a "Popular Library" Department. At the far back, center of the room, WPA-era murals are visible. The murals depict characters and scenes from children's literature.
