Bridgeport Public Library : Images across the years
Title:
The Junior Gardeners' Club at the South Branch of the Bridgeport Public Library
Description:
Four Black and white photographs glued to stiff cardboard showing different group poses of members of the Junior Gardeners' Club. The club was organized by the South Branch of the Bridgeport Public Library. The South Branch opened in 1922 on Myrtle Avenue between South and Railroad Avenues on land donated by Marie and Virginia Soules: two sisters who lived on Warren Street adjacent to the land. It temporarily closed during the 1930s and, in 1965, it was permanently closed because of the State Highway expansion of Route 25.
