A large street gathering

Black and white photograph showing a large group of people [nearly all men] gathered in a major street apparently waiting to enter a building. One building across the street from the crowd is Lane's Candy Factory. A significant number of men are wearing white armbands. It's unclear what the armbands signify although white armbands were sometimes used to identify non-combatants in a war zone. The tower of the Railroad station can be seen in the background.
