The long awaited 1940 Census is now available through the National Archives.\u00a0 At this time, NARA does not offer name searching.\u00a0 It is necessary to use information about where someone lived to find them on the census.\u00a0 Over the next year, the “Ancestry” and “Heritage Quest” sites available through the Bridgeport History Center (BHC)\u00a0will offer full service online searching of this census.<\/p>\n
NARA:\u00a0 http:\/\/1940census.archives.gov\/<\/a><\/p>\n 1940 Census Tool:\u00a0 www.stephenmorse.com\/census\/unified.html<\/a><\/p>\n The BHC offers access to the US Census in digital format through “AncestryLibray.com<\/a>” and “Heritage Quest<\/a>.” The department also has the complete federal census for Connecticut, 1790-1930 in print or on microfilm.
