Barnum Institute Building, Bridgeport, Conn., houses some rare memorabilia of Bridgeport's famous personalities P.T. Barnum and Gen. Tom Thumb (Charles Sherwood Stratton). Of Romanesque design, this building was built in 1893 and was a gift from Barnum to the City of Bridgeport. A historical frieze depicting the life of Bridgeport can be seen beneath the dome.
