Congratulations & Happy Retirement!

We wish a very fond farewell to Assistant City Librarian, John Soltis, who is retiring after 38 years with the Bridgeport Public Library!

John started as a library assistant in 1984, and has worked his way through every branch (and almost every job!), leaving each place and position he touched better than he found it. We are so grateful for all of his hard work, sense of humor, and absolute willingness to help colleagues and patrons alike.  We hope he takes this time to pursue the many passions (travel, reading, music, being a “cat dad”) that a busy work day does not allow.

John, we’ll miss you terribly, but we rest a little easier knowing that your love for the Library and for the City of Bridgeport, assures us that your retirement doesn’t mean “good-bye” but instead, “until we meet again.”
