BRIDGEPORT PUBLIC LIBRARY “QUICK PICK UP” FAQS
What is Quick Pick Up and why are we providing this service?
Quick Pick Up Service allows Bridgeport Public Library cardholders to borrow and pick up books, DVDs, audiobooks and CDs at our Burroughs (Main) and North Branch locations by scheduled appointment. Resuming library services will be a gradual process. We are excited to be able to get library materials back in the hands of our library patrons. With your library card you can place HOLDS on library materials. If you are a Bridgeport resident and need a library card: click here.
Is it safe?
In the interest of everyone’s safety and health, Library staff have been trained in the safe handling of materials, wearing clean gloves and masks while handling your items. Our procedures are based upon guidelines provided by the CDC (Center for Disease Control) and IMLS (Institute of Museum and Library Services) on the safe handling of library materials.
How do I use “Quick Pick Up”?

Please let staff know at time of scheduling if you will be picking up for family members as well. Items will be checked out to your card (and each family member’s card) just prior to your scheduled pickup appointment.
How will I know my holds are ready to be picked up?
We will email or call you to schedule a pickup time when your items are ready. Appointments will be scheduled at specific times on specific days. To support social distancing efforts, the library is operating with fewer staff on-site each day. Staff will fill your holds as quickly as possible.
What hours is Quick Pick Up available?
