More Help Available for Unemployed Homeowners
The federal program designed to help unemployed homeowners avoid foreclosure has been expanded. As of August 1, 2011, the Making Home Affordable Modification Program will allow unemployed homeowners to postpone payments for up to 12 months, a change from the previous limit of three months. Unemployed homeowners should contact their mortgage loan servicer to see if they qualify.
