History of the Bridgeport Fire Department

Bridgeport Fireman Robert Novak discusses the history of the Fire Department from 1790 to the present day, including famous fires such as the Great Fire of 1845, the F. Wood Carriage Company fire of 1865, the Barnum Circus Winter Quarters fire of 1887, the Ice House fire of 1939 and Remington Explosion of 1942 and more recent events.
Novak’s lively presentation includes many images, including photos and headlines from local Bridgeport newspapers.
