Welcome to Newfield Branch!
Newfield Branch Library is a neighborhood library, located at the intersection of Stratford and Central Avenues. Most of our patrons live in the East End, and we also work closely with area schools, childcare providers, and community centers and agencies.
We provide library materials for every age group and every interest level. We own about 23,000 books, 2000 audiovisual materials (DVD’s and videos, CD’s, CD-ROM’s, Talking Books and audiocassettes), many magazines and several newspapers.
Our electronic resources include Internet stations, word processors, and one children’s computer with educational games. We also have 8 laptop computers, which are used for our “Study Room” homework help program and for training purposes.
Newfield Branch Library offers many interesting regular programs for children, teens and adults like pre-school story hours, book clubs, study room, movies, crafts, a quilting group and special programs during school holidays and vacations. Most of our programs take place in our Community Room which seats 25 people. This room is also used for Health Fairs and for meetings of local non-profit organizations like the Girl Scouts.
